The Pokebay Seller Guide

Sell With
Confidence

Everything you need to know about listing, shipping, getting paid, and managing sales on Pokebay.

Before You List

Getting Started

Sign in to Pokebay and head to the Sell a Card page. Before your first listing can actually accept a payment, you'll need to connect a Stripe account from your dashboard settings — this is how Pokebay pays you directly for every sale.

Tip: Set up payouts before you list your first card — checkout is blocked for buyers until your Stripe account is fully connected and onboarded.

Listing a Card

From Card to Listing in Minutes

The sell flow is built to be fast — scan a card and most fields fill themselves in.

1. Scan or enter your card

Photograph the card for instant AI identification and live UK market pricing, or enter the details yourself. You can fix anything the scanner gets wrong before publishing.

2. Choose a category

Vintage, Modern Era, PSA/BGS Graded, Secret Rares, Japanese, Bulk Lots, Sealed Product, or Accessories. Categories help buyers find your card while browsing.

3. Set your price & condition

Pick a condition from Mint down to Poor, and set your price. Turn on "Accept offers" if you're open to buyers negotiating below your listed price.

4. Add photos

Up to 4 photos per listing — take several in one go from your camera, or select multiple from your photo library at once. Tap a photo to make it the cover, or use the arrows to reorder.

Shipping

Shipping & Labels

Buyers choose from real Royal Mail tracked options at checkout — Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Royal Mail Tracked 48. Once an order is paid, a shipping label is generated for you to print and dispatch from your Orders page.

Packaging Tips

  • Always sleeve and top-load the card before packaging — even for low-value cards.
  • Use a rigid mailer or top-loader with cardboard backing so the card can't bend in transit.
  • Write "Do Not Bend" on the envelope as an extra precaution, even with tracked services.

Getting Paid

Payouts & Fees

1

Pokebay uses Stripe Connect to pay sellers — you'll be prompted to set up (or link) a Stripe account before your first listing can accept payment.

2

For buyer protection, a buyer's payment is held securely by Pokebay rather than paid to you instantly. It's released to your connected Stripe account once the buyer confirms the card arrived and is as described, or automatically 7 days after you dispatch it — whichever comes first. Pokebay's 5% fee is deducted at that point.

3

Dispatch promptly and add tracking: the sooner it arrives and the buyer confirms, the sooner you're paid. An open dispute pauses the release until it's resolved.

4

Once released, there's no separate "request payout" step — Stripe handles payouts to your bank account on its own schedule.

5

The 5% fee only applies when a card actually sells. Listing a card costs nothing.

Offers

Accepting Offers

Turn on "Accept offers" on any listing to let buyers propose a price below your asking price. Every offer lands in your Offers dashboard, where you can accept or decline. Accepting sends the buyer a direct checkout link at the agreed price and automatically declines any other pending offers on that listing.

After You List

Editing & Managing Listings

Made a mistake, or want to update the price? You can edit any active listing — photos, category, price, condition, description, offers, and shipping method — from your listing page or the "Edit" button in your dashboard. Sold or ended listings can no longer be edited.

If a sale doesn't go smoothly, both buyers and sellers can raise a case in the Dispute Centre — Pokebay reviews every case individually.

Best Practices

Tips From Experienced Sellers

Photograph the actual card, not a stock image — buyers can tell, and it builds trust for future sales.

Be specific in your description: mention any whitening, scratches, or centering issues rather than leaving buyers to guess.

Dispatch quickly once you get a sale notification — fast, well-packaged shipping is one of the biggest drivers of good ratings.

Keep your price close to the live market data shown when you list — overpriced cards sit unsold, and buyers compare against the wider UK market.

Watch for our price-rise alerts: we monitor the market on your active listings and notify you (in-app and by email) when a card's value climbs, so you can bump your price and capture the upside.

Respond to offers promptly. A pending offer that sits unanswered is a sale you might be leaving on the table.
